When it comes to losing weight, do you know where to start eating healthy, or does coming up with a diet plan feel like an overwhelming first hurdle?

So what are the ingredients for a healthy nutrition plan? There are 4 basic things that need to be in place in order for you to start eating healthy to lose weight (or to achieve any other body goal):

  • The first place to start eating healthy is to switch to the right mind-set. Are you truly ready to commit and change?

  • Another important part of setting yourself up for success is having a plan to implement the right changes at the right time.

  • Next, you need effective strategies to make staying consistent as easy as possible and to avoid common unhealthy food traps.

  • Finally, you need some basic information about what to eat and what not to eat for you goal.

    One of the basic skills that I teach to nearly all of my nutrition clients is to easily identify your PFCs (these are also called macro-nutrients). That means knowing which foods are primarily protein, fats and carbs. This way you can easily build a balanced plate of food at a glance. It makes selecting a meal fast and easy.
